President's Message 2010

Another year has passed and your local Crime Stoppers program has seen many positive things happen. Our rewards component continues to be a great way to involve the community in solving crime. Our initiative at the jail has had great outcomes and has terrific potential to spread across the province. Our educational sessions   for high schools in London, Elgin & Middlesex is bringing Crime Stoppers directly to the students and shows them that they can make a difference in their school environment.

Moving forward, as part of our business plan we will continue to work with communities in the two counties to bring Crime Stoppers to the residents. We will spread our message of partnership in solving crime through various means including posters and flyers that will be available in businesses throughout London, Elgin and Middlesex. Look for roadside signs promoting Crime Stoppers and the 1-800-222-TIPS number.

We will visit many communities to promote events and provide outreach throughout the year. We will be present at Western Fair, Emergency Response Day in Strathroy, Racing Against Drugs, First Nations events and others. We will continue to work within our mission statement and with our police and media partners to ensure our program’s success. We will host informative live sessions to bring you current on what’s happening in the community and bring you information on how to make your community safer.

Our board is committed to encouraging all communities to use the anonymous tip line and secure website to report crime. You never have to give your name. Our board and members believe that you can take an active role in providing safe communities and utilising Crime Stoppers in an effective, anonymous way.
